Rating: 5 [ A great set ]
Okay well the lack of good reviews on this is about to kill me so heres mine (i hope u like it) i have been playing yu gi oh for 4 months and have found that some of the better cards like Mirror Force and Summoned Skull are from the metal raiders set. even with all these new sets coming out any real duelist will know that metal raiders is still one of the best if not the best yu gi oh set to buy. also Gate Guardian what many people have been advertising in previous reviews is a good card BUT amazingly hard to get out as well. nobody can have a gate guardian and build half a decent deck around it, it requires three cards suijin, kaizgin, and sanga of thunder to summon. those three cards also being super rares arent easy and aren't cheap to get, so good luck all you gate guardian fans. earlier in this review i mentioned mirror force and summoned skull those are two examples of good cards in this set. mirror force can basicaly turn a game around and summoned skull has the best ATK for a 1 sacrifice monster yet. and there are so many more good cards availble in Metal Raiders so if you can afford it get it

Metal Raiders is, in my opinion, one of the best sets out in North America currently. You get some pretty good cards such as Mirror Force, Heavy Storm, Tribute to the Doomed, etc. Most of the better cards in this set are super rare or higher, though. However, some of the cards in this set are really horrible. Gate Guardian is one of the worst monsters in the game. Many people like this card, only because it's pretty and it has 3750 attack points, but it is actually one of the hardest monsters to summon, if not, the hardest monster to summon in the entire game. It takes nine tributes (means nine monsters you have to sacrifice) to summon the Gate Guardian. That's not a really good deal. Also, Thousand Dragon is kinda bad too. Only 2400 attack for a fusion. B. Skull Dragon is much better. Thousand Dragon is better than Gate Guardian, though. Anyway, I'm getting a little off topic. Back to the review. If you ever get a Gate Guardian, Thousand Dragon, etc. (any bad card that's shiny), I recommend that you trade it or sell it for a high price. Or you could keep it and show off, even though that won't help you...

The cards that make this worth getting are Barrel Dragon, Mirror Force (one of the best in the game!), Tribute to the Doomed, Heavy Storm, Witch of the Black Forest, Sangan, Magician of Faith, 7 Colored Fish, and maybe B. Skull Dragon (it's the best fusion out there so far!).

Anyway, this set is really good. In my opinion, this set is tied with Pharaoh's Servant for the best set in North America. Labyrinth of Nightmare is 2nd. Magic Ruler I kinda dislike now, because you can get most of the cards in the new starter decks. However, there's still Snatch Steal, Delinquent Duo, etc. LOB has Exodia and Raigeki, but most of the foils are bad.

Anyway, hope you thought this was helpful! Have a nice day!

Don't let my fellow Magic-addicts fool you. Yu-Gi-Oh! is a great game. I've been playing Magic since 1995 (I'm 20) and I just started Yu-Gi-Oh! recently. It's rather ignorant to down this game and then advise everyone to play Magic. Magic is not for everyone, just as this game is not for everyone. If you like flashy, pretty colors, big creatures, quick and sometimes goofy moves then try Yu-Gi-Oh! If you are looking for a more Medieval feeling game with two (or more) battling wizards then look into Magic. I'm finding both games to be rewarding. Since this is a review for MRD I guess I'll throw in that it's a great set, and all Yu-Gi-Oh! players should buy lots of lots of packs of them.
